Education
One of the benefits of being involved in a surf club is the ability to learn skills that assist not only the club in meeting its requirements to patrol but are also invaluable life skills that benefit the individual and community as a whole.
Club Members have the opportunity to achieve a selection of awards and competencies through the volunteer training system. These are delivered by our club volunteer trainers and assessors and are categorised as follows:
- Aquatic Rescue
- First Aid and Emergency Care
- Powercraft
- Statewide Services
In order to enrol in any courses provided by the Club you’ll need an SLSA Members Area Account.
Youth Bronze Camp
Each year Torquay Surf Life Saving Club runs a u18 Youth Bronze Camp for those members progressing from their SRC.
Youth Surf Rescue Certificate
Each year Torquay Surf Life Saving Club runs an annual Surf Rescue Certificate for 13-15 year olds, which upon successful completion, participants are eligible to be involved in the volunteer patrol season.
